On August 29, SHEIN announced its official entry into the Colombian market, offering a comprehensive range of services including online payments, free shipping, and a virtual mall. To attract customers, SHEIN will also provide weekly promotions, exclusive free shipping offers, discount coupons, and a membership program that includes a points accumulation system.
According to the Colombian Chamber of Electronic Commerce (Ccce), Colombia’s total online transaction value reached 15.4 trillion pesos (approximately $3.7 billion) in the first quarter of 2024, marking a 1.73% year-over-year increase. The number of online transactions reached 93 million, a 6.65% increase from the previous year.
In a statement, SHEIN expressed excitement about entering Colombia at a time when the country’s economy is thriving, and new markets are emerging with great vitality. SHEIN recognizes Colombia as a fashion powerhouse with significant influence and is eager to provide products that meet the genuine needs of Colombian consumers.
This expansion follows SHEIN’s recent entry into the South Korean market in June. The SHEIN Korea website went live in late April, and the company appointed actress Kim Yoo-jung as the global ambassador for its brand Dazy. Recently, SHEIN launched the Dazy Spring/Summer collection, curated by Kim Yoo-jung. SHEIN Korea’s marketing head expressed hopes that the collaboration between Dazy and Kim Yoo-jung would help bring Korean fashion to the global stage.
